Transforming Perceptions

These past few years have brought a whirlwind of emotions between becoming employed, moving half-way across the country, and finally having the ability to focus on myself, my weight loss, and my faith. This blog is a reflection of all of these items and how they interact with each other.

I'm in Texas now!!!!

I am so sorry that I have not blogged in forever, but let me explain.

On June 5th, I left East Lansing, Michigan and headed to Austin, Texas - what a long journey! I arrived into town on June 7th, found an apartment that afternoon, and moved on June 9th. All my stuff followed two weeks later in a semi.

Those two weeks, it was just me, myself, and I. No television, no radio, no internet...nothing. I got to start thinking about my life, past, present, and future. Michigan was a great stepping stone for me in releasing some past chains I had, and I feel they are finally completely gone, shackles and all.

I wouldn't recommend moving to Texas in June - the beginning of a VERY HOT summer. Not to mention the A/C in my car died on my journey. To get to know the area better, I decided not to get either cable or the internet. This way I am forced to go out, have fun, and meet many new friends.

Three months after I moved to Texas, my best friend decided to follow suit and move to Austin for six months that started on October 1st! It has been a BLAST having her here. Granted I have been really busy with my new job, but I am now getting out and about much more.

Well, that is the quick recap of what has been happening here. Miss all of you lots!
